meeting the parents...again

I was glad to hear that I was not the only one confused about how Grace can end up getting married next week, considering where things were this week, not only in her romantic life, but also in the life of the series. If this was actually going to be a huge wedding event, it probably would have been advertised more. I suppose a lot can happen in an hour, especially a TV hour...but still, this can't be a good sign for Grace's relationship. I suppose characters played by guest stars don't last forever.

As for this week's episode, even ignoring the plot's similarity to the Friends episode an hour before, it was nothing special. Neither story was particularly intriguing, but the most entertaining part was probably seeing Grace be herself (just like Phoebe in the Friends episode...). How is it that quirky people on television are so popular? Their idiosyncracies seem to endear them to admirers, a phenomenon I rarely see in real life. But maybe it is not ultimately a benefit, as both Phoebe and Grace seem to be constantly in and out of relationships (except now). I guess it's all relative.
