the ring
Donna and Eric's reason for getting back together still does not work for me, no matter how many times they refer to it in subsequent episodes. I guess that means that any upcoming episode involving their relationship will seem somewhat surreal to me, and I'd better get used to it. This plot was remiscent of previous episodes where Eric tries to hide something from Donna, but the ring brought back memories of their breakup as well. I was relieved to hear Donna refer to the previous ring fiasco at the end of this episode, just because it was classy of the writers to acknowledge the similarities between the two plots.
Fez's scenes were particularly good. His humor is usually present only in conjunction with the other characters, but watching him in his own storyline was a delight. And the fact that it converged with the ring plot was (relatively) brilliant. Unless the connections are really contrived, I'm always impressed when everything ties up smoothly at the end...plus, the surprise of plot convergence is an appealing brand of humor.
