This year started off with considerably more drama and action than I'm used to seeing in That 70s Show. The season finale took place at the beginning of the summer, but this week's show (the season's premiere) began at the end of the summer, leaving the audience to gasp for breath trying to keep up with killer plot twists (Hyde has a beard?!). At first I wished the show had followed convention and pretended no time had elapsed over the summer, but upon further reflection it occured to me that not seeing what I expect can be a more engaging experience. Between Jessica Simpson's guest appearance and the occasional film-style scenes and cinematography...well, it's good to know the show doesn't take itself too seriously.

p.s. Isn't Kitty great? She's always on Eric's side, even when she really isn't supposed to be....
