This episode made me aware of yet another great thing about Scrubs: the timing. The lines are perfectly delivered, and this episode and others have been choreographed really nicely. The way the staff interact and get around in the hospital is really pleasant to listen to and watch. The combination of realistic elements and performance elements gives further credit to the cast and crew.

The moral of this episode was valid, as usual: joking about difficult things makes it possible to let them go and move on. This seems to be a pretty modern way of dealing with hardship, and I know from experience that many people do not subscribe to this strategy. But watching this episode put into words the very reason I make light of so many things. In addition, it clarified the reason behind the Law and Order quip: they're just doing their job.
