Every combination of two main characters in Scrubs produces some magical relationship that is entertaining, as well as atypical for situation comedies. Likewise, each moral presented at the end of an episode is one that I haven't heard from another sit-com. This episode, although the moral did not stand out, did take one of the magical relationships (between J.D. and Dr. Cox) and change one detail in order to create a new plot.

The beautiful thing about the character interaction in Scrubs compared to other shows is that the status relationships are clearly stated but can also be dynamic, depending on the plot. Many of the plot twists in this show include the temporary modification of one relationship, resulting in change in the whole nurse-doctor-resident stratification. The appearance of the temporarily equal interaction between J.D. and Dr. Cox was entertaining in a new way, but even more interesting was Dr. Cox's jumbled wrap-up when J.D. decided to make his own choices. I wonder how long that choice will last.
