i love this show

Scrubs is such a great show. I forgive it the goofiness that turns other people off, just because for some reason the show is inherently so great. I'm usually attracted to a great cast, which Scrubs has, but that's not always enough. Honestly, I don't know what makes it great. All I know is that they apparently wrote the show for me.

You know what else was great? Last season. Last season was great for so many reasons. The pilot has got to be the best pilot ever written. Series premieres are generally shoddy and forced, and not usually representative of the show after they've had time to perfect the interaction between characters, actors, and writers. Last time I saw the Scrubs pilot I barely noticed it was the pilot. That's because it's great.

Another great thing about last season is the references to the first episode in the season finale. Touching, but not in a pretentious or corny way. The show does sometimes border on corny, but never gets corny enough that I don't think it's great.

I can understand how the guitarist could annoy people. For some reason I see this plot device as something bothering the writers, too, something the audience has in common with the writers. Not something that the writers thought would be cool. Something the writers also wanted to ditch. But still secretly thought was cool.

What a nice guy, JD. But the moral (one I've never heard in another show) is true: sometimes the best course of action is to do nothing at all. That's true. That's not sit-com true, that's actually true. Even with the fanciful camera tricks and imagined scenes, this show comes closer to actual truth than other shows. Like I learned in high school religion class, even if stories are not true they contain truth. I guess it's not all about realism after all.
