fame and eating

Bill Dauterive is like the Trix rabbit: by definition he can never get what he wants, and if for one shining instant he wins the affection of a woman (or a bowl of cereal), the understanding must be that it is an exception to the rule, which will never be broken again. If Bill were to be more than temporarily blessed with a loved one, his character would lose its potency.

The episode started off slow, and Dale's sour demeanor during the beginning of the show left no space for his trademark weird observations and stories. But at least the side plot, with Peggy trying to keep Bobby from getting any ideas about fame and eating, was amusing. Happily, their story was related to the main plot, since if it were detached it would have been just another tacked-on storyline.
