My Daily Life: Morning Images
As of September 1, 2006, I am once again a student of National Taiwan Normal University's
Mandarin Training Center. Luckily, my class meets right before lunch, so I often go out to eat with
my classmates and practice what I've learned in the day's lesson. In the afternoons, I either hang out
with friends, go shopping at an underground mall, or spend a few hours in the library studying or
reading great works of fiction...in English, of course. It's a simple life, but quite pleasant.
Following are some images showing what my mornings are like in Taiwan.
I like to cut it close in the mornings...so I sometimes don't have time to eat breakfast, let alone
take pictures. I guess this morning I had a few extra minutes....

That's what my room looks like...after I've gotten dressed and made the bed.
Sometimes when I'm checking my email, a trespassing dog or two pass by the window. On this particular
day, I caught one in the act...

After I get ready for school, I grab a beverage and head out the door at 8:55 a.m.

To get to the bus stop, I have to walk down 121 steps.

On my way back home, I tend to ask the bus
driver to stop closer to the house, so I don't have to endure the 121 steps on the way back up.

The clock says 9:01...but the bus is sometimes a few minutes late, so I had time to take a picture.
I was sitting right there when I saw the biggest
spider I've ever seen.
For roughly one dollar, the little community bus takes me to the nearest Taipei MRT station...

...where I wait for the train...

...and emerge at Taipower Building Station near my school.

Normally I make a beeline for the distant 7/11 for some bread or a fake fish rice ball, and then
head to the red building (way in the back) for class.
To be continued...?
